Lakeview Mayfest starts this weekend…
While the city has been covered in a week-long cold front and lake-effect fog, its crazy that neighborhoods are setting up for the summer street festivals already. Its halfway through May and we have (at best) mid-50’s highs and 10 ft. visibility, which is why the early neighborhood fests have spotty turnouts and cut-rate cover bands.
To kick off the season, as usual, is Lakeview Mayfest at Ashland and Belmont. 10 a.m.-10 p.m. This year’s lineup – The Personnel, Too White Crew, and as usual, Hairbangers Ball. So if you can’t wait until June to hear a cover of “Rock You Like a Hurricane” or “Smoke on the Water” hit up Mayfest for tomorrow.
And tomorrows forecast? you guessed it, afternoon thunderstorms (as usual). But there should still be a decent turnout because its never too early in the summer to hear live music, eat overpriced burgers, and practice spilling beer on the sidewalk.
